Bond Camp

Bond Camp was named for former owner James Bond, noted ornithologist and author of a wonderful book called “Native Birds of Mount Desert Island’, and of course inspiration for the name of the world’s most famous fictional spy. 

Located on the ‘Quietside’ of Mount Desert in Pretty Marsh, Bond Camp occupies a large, very private wooded parcel of 15.7 acres with 785’ of shorefront on Pretty Marsh Harbor. Woodland paths course through the sylvan woods, with granite outcroppings, a fenced garden, fragrant blooms and lush mossy areas amongst the natural pine needle paths. There are four separate cabins with a total of five bedrooms and three- and one-half baths. This property straddles the town lines of Mount Desert and Tremont, so it is centrally located to the various villages on the island.

• The main cabin, with a full kitchen, half bath and vaulted open living room with a rustic granite boulder fireplace, is perfect for large gatherings or a quiet evening. This main cabin has a wonderful deck near the water’s edge with cedar bark clad railings enhancing the woodland motif.
• The seasonal cabins are meticulously styled and maintained, with attractive decor, appliances and furnishings, all in a casually elegant style to match the quiet, woodland surroundings.

Views from the Bond Camp are to the West of Pretty Marsh Harbor, and out to Blue Hill Bay and several picturesque spruce-clad islands. Understated gardens and landscaping accent and complement the residences, surrounded by natural but beautifully kept forest areas with woodland paths and mossy areas. A deep-water dock and moorings, granite outcroppings, and a gravel beach area complete the waterfront offering.
