Night Pasture Farm's hilltop 120.1 acres look out over expansive views of a river valley and mountains. The craftsman style contemporary four-bedroom timber home, designed by AIA award-winning architect Jeremy Bonin, is sited in a high meadow, the "night pasture", where cows grazed for generations of farmers. Night Pasture Farm is an energy-efficient 5 star + level "Efficiency Vermont" rated home.

The 2,986 square foot house has a unique architectural design that was a featured cover story in Timber Home Living magazine. Inspired by a stately maple on the property, the timber frame lines appear to grow as they would in the forest, angling the natural light to fill the home from the myriad of windows surrounding it. Adding to the modern elements is the dry-laid stone fireplace, which turns 45 degrees as it nears the ceiling and exposes a sculptural steel connection to the timber frame. It took 19 months to complete the stonework.

Extensions of the living areas are the fun gathering places outside, designed to take in the beautiful site. Off the wrap around porch is a massive stone table, a "cowboy style" firepit, a smoking oven, propane pizza oven and a grill, all facing the view and the sunset.

There is a bank barn with an additional 3 bay garage for gear, equipment and workspace, and fruit trees for apple pies. The half-mile drive wends through fields and forests, providing a bucolic approach and complete privacy. Other amenities include a chef-designed cherry wood and soapstone kitchen, first-floor primary suite and bath, two-bay heated attached garage, wine cellar, gym, sauna, and high-speed internet.

The home is located in the lovely shire town village of Chelsea, which is on the national register of historic places. Night Pasture Farm is 2 ½ hours from Boston and 5 hours from New York City., 45 minutes from Lebanon Municipal Airport and 70 minutes from Burlington International Airport.
