Perched just 34 feet on a rocky ledge from the high water mark along WaterCove, Coveside was artfully designed to the contour of the southwest facing cove, with 180± feet of deep-water frontage. Noted architect Jeremiah Eck took full advantage of the natural surroundings and designed the modern home around the contours of the land. The delightful merge of landscape and interior comfort includes four bedrooms, an open floor plan, and amazing window and skylights throughout the home. The remarkable design was documented by noted Architect Christopher Glass in his book, At Home in Maine: Houses Designed to Fit the Land (2004). Glass wrote of the design; “What Jeremiah has created in this house is an amazing flow of space enhanced by the light and the play of light. Because of the angles, because of all the points at which light enters, it’s a constant series of changes and surprises.” Consistent with his vision of home and landscape working in unison, Eck designed this efficient home with stainless steel and granite countertops, Deer Isle granite fireplace, and natural finishes through-out. This open-concept home is perfect for entertaining as well as for quiet respite. The many activities of Casco bay are readily available: kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and sailing are just steps from the front of this magical property.
