Story is the principal broker in the Northeast Harbor, Maine office and serves on several area boards. She holds records for two of the highest residential sales for the State of Maine, in addition to many important and record sales of estates, land and islands. Story’s area of expertise is Mount Desert Island, the Acadian Archipelago of offshore islands, the Blue Hill Peninsula and areas Down East; many of these sales have resulted in continued personal and professional relationships.
Story was born and raised in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard, where she lived year-round. After college, she fulfilled an early passion to become a professional photographer; one of her first photography jobs was full time with ABC-TV in Boston, MA. During that time and after, she worked as a professional freelance commercial photographer, traveling internationally for many projects. As photographer for the Boston Symphony, she traveled on several World Tours, including their trip to Beijing and Shanghai in 1979, one of the first times Americans were allowed in China, because Seiji Ozawa was born in Beijing and had been invited by the Chinese. Other photography commissions included the Red Sox, and assignments for publications such as Architectural Digest, Time, Newsweek, National Geographic, Yachting, Cruising World, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
After raising two sons in Maine, she feels privileged to live year-round in Northeast Harbor. Her work allows the opportunity to work with exceptional people and magnificent properties; her ‘office’ often the verdant woods, a spruce clad island, or beautiful rocky beaches. Story enjoys sailing, skiing, hiking, problem solving, and being proactive. Acadia’s trails are adjacent to her home, and she walks them often, always appreciating the views, the wildlife and the peaceful presence found there.
