Charlie Wise brings deep business development experience and love of the land to LandVest’s Vermont and Adirondack teams. From his base in Dorset, Vermont, he focuses on Dorset, Manchester, Londonderry, and surrounding towns in Bennington and Windham Counties. Charlie also works closely with Vinny McClelland in the Adirondacks, facilitating the sale of distinctive properties in the park and more broadly across New York State’s North Country. The two hike and ski the glades, gullies and rock slides of the High Peaks whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Prior to joining LandVest, Charlie spent 14 years in the software industry, driving partnership and key enterprise account development. His work at Seattle-based Verdiem, backed by Kleiner Perkins and later acquired by Aptean, served as natural bridge to the renewable energy sector where Charlie has spent the last 9 years working with financiers, utilities, and many of the largest utility-scale wind and solar developers in the industry.
Charlie graduated from Groton School in Massachusetts and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he played NCAA Division I Lacrosse. The Terrapins reached the Final Four his freshman season, and Charlie was the first member of a Varsity team at Maryland to also be enrolled in the University’s Honors Program.
Charlie is a member of the Town of Dorset Planning Commission, and is involved in a variety of local school and youth sport activities.
Charlie was the Founding Chairman of Baltimore SquashWise, an after-school enrichment program for urban youth, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2018.
