Position Available: LOG ACCOUNTANT

Job Classification
The Log Accountant is a full-time, hourly position.

Reports to
The Log Accountant reports to the Land and Timber Manager.

Job Overview
The Log Accountant’s primary role is the accurate data management of the log accounting system LIMS for LandVest’s Western Region clients. Additional responsibilities include clerical support of the woods-based Operations’ services, cross training and support of other clerical staff, and other duties as assigned. The position is based in Redding or Mount Shasta, California. Consideration will be given to qualified candidates in the McKinleyville (Eureka area).

  • Data entry, data validation & data processing
  • Client & customer services
  • Correspondence
  • Records retention & filing
  • General office support for in office and remote staff


  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management preferred
  • Minimum 1 year bookkeeping experience required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc)
  • Experience with database management
  • Requires a strong eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential for success in this position
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff as well as outside clients and customers
  • Knowledge of the forest products industry, timber harvesting and marketing preferred.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required sit, stand, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 20 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to drive.
